Focus on earthquake research: international cooperation in Rome

The 3rd Workshop on Earthquake Physics and Applications of Artificial Intelligence to Tectonic Faulting took place in Rome in September.

The workshop brought together international experts from the fields of seismology, geophysics, and data analysis to discuss current developments at the interface of earthquake research and artificial intelligence.

Rebecca Harrington, Gian Maria Bocchini, David Essing, Jonathan Bedford, Kaan Cökerim, and Elya Latypova from the Institute of Geosciences at RUB attended the workshop. They presented their latest research findings and exchanged ideas with colleagues from around the world on new methods and applications of AI in the study of tectonic processes.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to establish new collaborations and further develop innovative approaches to understanding earthquake mechanisms.
