Announcement: Institute Name Change

We are pleased to announce that our institute has been renamed from the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy, and Geophysics (IGMG) to the Institute of Geosciences. This change reflects the consolidation of the three previously separate institutes into a unified entity. The new name is more modern, aligns better with our study programs, and enhances accessibility to a broader audience.

As part of this transition, the Faculty has also changed its name from the Faculty of Geosciences to the Faculty of Geography and Geosciences.

Additionally, our website domain will soon change from https://www.gmg.ruhr-uni-bochum.de to https://www.geo.ruhr-uni-bochum.de. During a transitional period, the old URL will remain accessible.
