Field Trip on Exogenic Geology at Lake Baldeney
On June 12, 2025, students explored Lake Baldeney in Essen as part of the “Exogenic Geology” course.
In the field, they examined Upper Carboniferous outcrops and learned to identify, describe, and discuss geological structures and processes directly in the terrain.
The field exercise provides hands-on training in how to document and interpret geological observations. Afterward, the students prepare their own field trip reports with sketches of the outcrops they examined, thereby deepening their understanding of exogenic geological processes.
