News Glück auf! Excursion to the Recklinghausen Training Mine As part of the master's block seminar “Praxistage Felsbau,” our students visited the Recklinghausen training mine in January. The aim of the excursion was to deepen theoretical knowledge of rock mechanics under realistic conditions and to gain practical insights into subsurface operations. The focus underground was on practical experience: students were allowed to operate machines and equipment themselves and learn about typical work processes in mining. This allowed them to experience firsthand the technical connections, safety aspects, and special challenges of working in an underground environment. The block seminar combines theory and practice in a unique way. The excursion to the training mine was therefore a central component of the practice-oriented education at our institute and left a lasting impression on all participants. Previous Next
