Information for incoming and outgoing exchange students

 

Information for Outbound students

Exchange studies are possible on all levels: BSc, MSc and PhD. 

Our current bilateral Erasmus exchange agreements include universities in Rome, Istanbul, Trieste, Prague, Thessaloniki, Oviedo, and Madrid. 

Anyone who would like to study at one of our partner universities in the winter semester 2026/27 and/or summer semester 2027 can schedule a counselling meeting with the IfG Erasmus coordinator Dr. Kirchenbaur until January 31st 2026.

Information for Incoming students

BSc level

Language requirements: German language level B2; most courses have German as their language of instruction. Material can be provided in English upon demand.

Offered courses and modules: The modules and courses that are offered on the BSc level are described in detail here. Please note some pre-requisites for entry in second or third year modules. 

 

MSc level

Language requirements: English language level B2 (IELTS 6.0 minimum). 

Offered courses and modules: The modules and courses that are offered on the MSc level can be found here. Please consult the module handbook for a detailed description. 

 

Lecture times and exam schedule

Winter semester: Lectures begin mid-October to end of January. Exams take place in the months of February and March, the schedule is published at the beginning of the semester here.

Summer semester: Lectures start beginning of April to mid-July. Exams take place in the months of July, August and September. 

Please note that in the lecture free period, field exercises as well as block and lab courses are scheduled.
